Summary: A continuation of the "Closer" Saga. Faith is in New York, Buffy's on her way back from LA, and Willow and Giles return from England...with a guest...
Spoilers: None Really, as most of this is AU.
Author's Notes: Feedback Welcome, and requested, especially with Willow's journal...some dispute on it. If you have an aversion to girl-girl sex or BDSM don't read it. Also, a very big thank you and shout out to Merlyn, who's in my fic. Without role-playing with him for so long, I wouldn't be able to write this anywhere near as well.

Chapter 4

Faith sat outside the club, on the ground, catching her breath. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the wall. She sensed a presence next to her so she opened her eyes to see Little Wolf's daughter, Eevee, sitting down next to her.

"You ok? I mean, I'm not much for pain myself, but I know Dire Wolf's pretty good with his toys."

Faith nodded as the music thumped against the big window behind her head. "Yeah, I'm fine, Kid."

Play It's Been Awhile

And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I first saw you
And it's been awhile
Since I could stand on my own two feet again
And it's been awhile
Since I could call you

Eevee looked at Faith questioningly, but just nodded. {Wow, she looks hot sitting there all sweaty and--Wait! I don't like girls, what the hell?} Eevee pulled a water bottle out of her jacket, took a swig from it, then held it out to Faith. "Want some?"

"Thanks." Faith took the bottle, drank some, and coughed a little. "Vodka, huh? Coulda warned me." Faith smiled. {She's kinda cute, but she's gotta be, like, sixteen...way too young for me. Hey, sixteen'll get you twenty...} Faith took another pull from the bottle and handed it back.

Eevee stood up and brushed off her pants, "I'm heading up to the park." She took out her cell phone, "You got a number?" {Oh my god, I just asked her for her number.}

"Not right now, I'm not really staying anywhere. Kinda ran outta money." Faith shrugged.

Eevee looked around, and spotted Merlin. "Hey, White Merlin," she called.

Merlin walked over. "What's up?" He took out a cigarette and handed it to Faith. She took it this time, and lit it. {Well there goes quitting.}

Faith stayed with you last night, right? Can she stay with you for a while?" Eevee put on her best 'I'm your favorite niece' look, and crossed her fingers inside her pocket.

"Sure, I don't see why not. If Sarafina gets on your nerves, we can always kill her." Merlin laughed.

Faith looked up at him, and took a drag of her cigarette. "Thanks, Bro."

Eevee smiled. "Well I guess I have your number then. Here's mine." Eevee wrote the ten digits on a piece of paper, handed it to Faith, then grinned at Merlin. "Love you, Merlin." To Faith, she said, "I'm not working this week, if you wanna hang out, call me." She turned to walk up the street, and called over her shoulder, "Lataz."

Merlin held his hand out to Faith, who stood up and brushed herself off. "Looks like you have an admirer."

Faith just smiled, and watched the younger girl walk away.

Willow sat on the edge of the bed, packing up her things. {I know Giles said we won't be leaving for another couple of days, but I can't wait. I miss Buffy so much, I don't wanna delay seeing her in any way.} She looked at the little desk in the corner; her laptop and Sarah's tape recorder on it were the only signs of technological life in the room. {Well, I guess I can spare time for a journal entry.} The redhead sat at the desk, pressed play on the tape recorder, and booted up her laptop.

Willow's Live Journal Entry, May 7th, 2003.

Mood: Hopeful

Music: It's Been Awhile by Staind

Sarah says I'm going to be okay. She says I've made enough progress to go home again, and that the dreams are natural. I think I'm finally ready, really ready to put Tara to rest. It's been a long road, and I've done some pretty awful things but, well, I'm a good person, and I'm going to do better.

I've run the spell I want to cast for Buffy's scythe by Sarah and the rest of the Coven, and they seem to believe in me. Giles says he believes in me too. That means a lot.

I'm so tired. Tired of being locked into this 'situation.' I still can't remember a lot of what happened, and I'm sure it will one day come rushing back to me in one awful moment, but for now, I have Buffy.

Goddess, I'm so sorry, Faith, wherever you are.

I can't help thinking about how messed up it was--what I did. I still think about her. About the passion and about the sex. It's not like that's all she was to me, it's just that I haven't yet with Buffy. *blush* We came so close, but... I guess I'm still a little shy in that department. Well, when it comes to Buffy, anyway. I've wanted to be with her for so long now, I just want to enjoy every minute of it, you know?

Well, Giles is calling me. Maybe he's heard something about Faith. Got to go.

*signing off*

Buffy sat up and yawned. She lay in bed for a while, listening to the music still blaring from the TV. Getting out of bed, she went into the bathroom for her morning routine. Coming back into the room a while later, the video playing caught her interest.

And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I first saw you
And it's been awhile
Since I could stand on my own two feet again
And it's been awhile
Since I could call you

Buffy grimaced. {Sounds kind of like me sometimes.}

And everything I can't remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've stretched myself beyond my means

{Well, time to go stretch myself beyond my means a little more.} She gathered up her purse, and walked downstairs to check out. Getting into her jeep, her stomach growled loudly. {Guess that means it's time for some breakfast.} Chuckling to herself, she pulled through a McDonalds. She pulled over next to a pay phone while she ate. {Should probably call the house, too.} After finishing her sandwich, she got out and picked up the phone.

"Hello? Grand-bloody-Central." Spike drawled at the other end of the line.

"Hi, Spike. How's everything?" Buffy rolled her eyes at the bleached vampire.

"Oh, wonderful. If that demon calls me Spikey-poo one more bloody time, I'll turn her, I swear, Buffy."

Buffy laughed. "Relax, Spike. Anya doesn't mean anything by it. Is Dawn there? Lemme talk to her."

"Oh bollocks. Fine. See if I ever care about your problems anymore." He paused, and Buffy's slayer hearing heard, "Little Bit, it's your scatter-brained--"

"Spike! You do realize she can probably hear you, right?" Dawn pointed at the phone.

"Beautiful, smart, loveable sister." Spike finished, not missing a beat.

"Buffy?" Dawn asked through the phone.

"Yep, it's me, the scatter-brained one." Buffy smirked.

"See, I knew you'd hear him." Dawn chuckled. So, are you coming back? Did you see Angel?" Dawn babbled.

"Slow down, Dawn." It was Buffy's turn to chuckle. "Yes, I'm on my way home. Yes, I saw Angel. And before you say it, yes, I missed you."

"Good. I missed you too. Hang on, Xander wants to talk to you." Dawn passed the cordless phone to Xander.

"Hey, Buff, how's it going?"

"Good. Did you hear from Willow yet?" Buffy tried to keep the emotion out of her voice.

"Giles called about ten minutes ago. He said they'd be back on Sunday, and not to worry, that Willow was doing fine."

Buffy let out the breath she hadn't been aware she'd been holding. "Good. I'm glad she's--they're okay."

Xander held back a chuckle at Buffy's irrational behavior. {She's worried about Will. That's so darn cute!} "They're fine, Buff. You on you're way back?"

"Yeah, I'll be home tomorrow or the next day."

"Okay, call us periodically, okay?"

"I will. Oh, and, Xan?"

"Yeah?"

"Have we heard anything about Faith?"

"No, Buff. Sorry. We haven't heard from her."

Buffy's shoulders slumped. "It's all my fault."

"No it isn't. Faith could have stuck around and talked things out like an adult, but noooo. She had to run away, like she always does. She never confronts things when it comes to any of us...just hides and hopes it'll blow over."

"I'll see you later, Xander. I need to get back on the road." Buffy sighed, her exasperation with her friend beginning to show in her tone.

"Okay, Buffy, I'll talk to you later."

Buffy hung up the phone, and got back in the car. Turning on the radio, she heard the same song she'd heard on television earlier.{He may be mad, but she had every right to be pissed. I hope she's okay.}

And it's been awhile
Since I've gone and fucked things up, just like I always do
And it's been awhile
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you

And everything I can't remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've gone & fucked thing up again, again....

"Yep. That about sums it up," she said to herself as she pulled onto the highway.

Faith stood in Union Square Park and squinted through her sunglasses, looking for her new friend. Spotting Eevee, she smiled and walked toward her. "Hey sexy, whatcha wanna do?" Faith leaned over and kissed the younger girl on the cheek.

"I dunno, how about some coffee?" Eevee shrugged.

"Sure, that sounds great." {I'll do just about anything right now, as long as you're there. Whoa, Faith, where'd that come from? Jeez, barely over Red, now you're robbing the cradle?}

The two women walked across the street to the Starbucks by the park. Getting their drinks, they sat at a table near the back. Faith looked down at her drink and said, "So, how old are you, anyway?"

"Eighteen." Eevee took a sip of her Frappuccino, and smiled.

Faith choked on her coffee. "You're eighteen? I thought you were only, like sixteen."

"Nope. I'm legal. Is that okay with you?"

"Sure, no problem. Uh, so, what do y'all do out here?" {Praise the powers that be, there is a god!}

"You're looking at it. Coffee and clubbing. Don't they have vamps in California?" Eevee looked at Faith questioningly. {She's so hot. I like guys, I like guys.}

"Sure, but uh, they're kinda different. Oh yeah, and I kinda kill them."

It was Eevee's turn to choke. "You wha?"

Faith sucked in her breath. {Now or never, Faith. Do you trust this girl enough to tell her that you're the Slayer?} "I was only joking, Kid."

"Don't give me that, and don't call me Kid. What are you talking about?"

{Here goes...} "Well, there's a legend, 'Into each generation a Slayer is born. One girl in all the world, a Chosen One. One born with the strength and skill to fight the vampires, to stop the spread of their evil and the swell of their numbers. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer.' {Wow. G-man would be proud of me.}That's what I mean when I say I kill them."

Eevee looked at Faith, wondering what drugs this girl was on. Seeing the seriousness in her face, Eevee reluctantly realized she was telling the truth. "Wow. I didn't even know people like that existed. How come it has to be a girl?"

"Well, the first slayer was female, and the energy passed down like that. 'Cause women are the only ones with power enough to bear the pain of killing demons, Men are like, too fucking weak."

"Really?"

"Nah, I actually have no clue. But it sounded good, didn't it?" Faith grinned. "And a new slayer is called when the current one dies, except in my case, I was called, cause Buffy died. Except she didn't really, only for a minute, but Kendra was called anyway. And then Drusilla killed Kendra, so I was called. So there are, like, two of us now." {Wow, babbling like Red now, huh?}

"Wow, yo. I think I need some of that crack you're smoking." Eevee grinned at Faith, letting her know she knew Faith was serious.

Faith smiled sheepishly. "So, you gonna run and call the local loony bin, or what?"

Eevee ignored the slayer's comment. "So, you go around saving the world, huh? Must be tough, I mean, I always kinda dreamed of shit like that. But I'm no slayer."

"Well, Buffy takes care of things pretty much, I just stake my share, ya know?" Faith chuckled at her choice of words.

"A slayer named Buffy? Now I know you're on crack."

Faith shrugged. "If you saw chickie in action, you wouldn't say that. She's got strength, yo. Like, inner strength, I only wish I could have. {Wow, trusting this kid, aren't you?}

Eevee took Faith's hand off her coffee cup. "Not like I know much, but to take it from Dire Wolf, you must be pretty damn fucking strong. I know mad people who've run screaming for less than you took."{Holding hands now, huh?}

"That wasn't anything big. Just a night out, ya know?"

"Maybe for you. I couldn't take that shit. Tattoos and piercings are about all the pain I can handle." Eevee grinned. "How about you? You got any ink?"

Faith smirked. "Yeah, I got one or two. I even have a couple piercings."

"Oh yeah? Like what?" Eevee picked up her cup, dropping Faith's hand. {I was still holding her hand? Shit, I didn't even realize.}

"Well," Faith began. "I have this." Faith picked up her shirt sleeve, and showed off the tribal design on her upper arm. "I got a couple more you can't see. Well, can't see here, anyway." Faith raised her eyebrow.

"That's awesome." {Is she flirting with me?} "What about metal? You have anything pierced? I do piercings." Eevee blushed, realizing the flirting was making her babble.

Faith stuck out her tongue, showing the silver bar in it. "I got that, and a couple others..." Faith trailed off, listening to the music filtering through the room.

And it's been awhile
Since I could say that I wasn't addicted
And it's been awhile
Since I could say I loved myself as well
And it's been awhile
Since I've gone and fucked things up, just like I always do
And it's been awhile
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you

Against her better judgement, Faith blushed. {It's true, It's like nothing matters, sitting here with her.} Faith reached across the table, and gently picked up Eevee's hand, looking at the younger girl for any sign of resistance. Eevee's eyes widened slightly, but otherwise just let Faith hold her hand.

"S-so, uh, what other piercings do you have?" Eevee stuttered, now a little nervous.

"Well, I've got my nipples done." Faith's eyebrow quirked again. "And a couple other things. Wanna get my bellybutton done, but I can't afford it right now." Faith absentmindedly rubbed her thumb over the back of Eevee's hand.

"I can do it for you. That is, if you want." Eevee felt herself get warm, and finished her drink, toying with the straw with her free hand.

"That'd be kinda cool, actually. Could you do it today?" Faith said excitedly.

"Yeah, I always carry my stuff with me," Eevee said, pointing at her bag. "We can call White Merlin and see if he'll let us do it over there. " Eevee smirked, realizing what she'd just said.

"Yeah, we can go do it right now." Faith said, trying to get a rise out of the girl.

Eevee blushed and pulled her phone out of her pocket. Dialing with one hand, she called Merlin.

"Mmmm...hullo?" A sleepy voice answered.

"White Merlin?"

"Mmm...Yeah?" Merlin sounded like he was trying to wake up.

"It's Eevee. Can me and Faith come over and pierce her navel?" Eevee held her breath. {God, I'd love to get my hands on her stomach.}

"Sure, I guess so...Sarafina won't be home for hours. I'll leave the door unlocked, I'm going back to sleep." Merlin hung up.

"Th--oh. He hung up on me." Seeing Faith's disappointed expression before the slayer wiped it off, Eevee quickly continued, "He said no problem though. He was sleeping. He's always sleeping." Eevee chuckled.

Faith leaned over and gently brushed her lips against Eevee's. Eevee hesitated, but then leaned into the kiss slightly. {Who'd have thought kissing a girl could be this nice?} Eevee put her free hand on the back of Faith's neck, and pulled her closer. Faith lightly pressed on Eevee's lips with her tongue, requesting entrance, and Eevee's lips parted, allowing access. Eevee played with Faith's piercing with her tongue, pulling on it gently, until a voice broke into their reverie.

"Hey! Get a room, you two!"

Faith snapped her head up, to see a girl standing there. Average height, with hair, as dark as the slayer's, pulled back into a ponytail, and a spiked labret piercing jutting out below her bottom lip, She grinned at the couple.

"Geez, yo, you scared the shit out of me!" Eevee laughed, then introduced the girl to Faith. "Faith, this is Azazel. Azazel, this is Faith."

Azazel held out her hand. "Hey. How's it going?"

"Not bad, yo." Faith smiled at the girl.

"We're going out to White Merlin's to pierce Faith's navel." Eevee gestured towards Faith, then to her bag.

"Cool, cool." Azazel pointed to the register. "I'm gonna get coffee, then I'll walk with you guys back to the train."

"Sounds good, yo." Eevee watched Azazel go to the counter and turned to Faith. "I never did anything like that before. I'm not really sure if I'm all good with it yet."

Faith's face darkened. "It's okay, I understand. It's all good." {Figures. This is what I get.}

Eevee watched Faith put her guard up and said, "Nah, man, you don't get it. I liked it, and it kinda freaked me a little, is all." Eevee blushed slightly at her admission.

Faith's features melted. {Ha! Going around telling me you told me so.} "It's cool, yo. I can back off. Your move, Ki--Shorty."

"Come on, Slaya. Let's bounce." Eevee pointed to the other girl coming back with her drink, and the three girls walked out and towards the park and the train station.

Faith blushed briefly.{Slaya, huh? I think I can deal with that.}

Giles and Willow walked through the airport at Heathrow, towards their gate. "Ah, Willow. I believe I should call Xander, and remind him of our arrival information."

"Okay, I'm gonna get some coffee, I'll meet you by the gate." She pointed towards the coffee stand, and then towards the mass of chairs next to the big windows. "Here, take my bag. You can listen to my Walkman if you want." She grinned, thinking of the tape in the little player, and walked over to the cafe.

Giles moved on to the bank of pay telephones, and pulled out his wallet, removing his credit card. He picked up the handset, placed it against his ear, and dialed the US country code. "Hello, operator? I'd like to place a call to Sunnydale, California, please. Number? 803-555-1134. Yes, thank you, I'll hold." After about a minute, the line began to ring.

"Hello?" A feminine voice answered.

"Ah, hello, Dawn. Is Xander there?" Giles shifted the bag over his shoulder, and leaned against the wall.

"Sure, Giles." Dawn said in her cheerful voice, before calling out, "Xander! Phone!"

Giles grimaced. "I'm quite sure there is no reason to shout."

"Oh. Sorry." Dawn said, grinning.

"Yes, well. No harm done. At least not permanently."

Xander's voice came on the line. "Welcome to the Hellmouth, how may I direct your call?"

"That is far from funny, I can assure you, Xander. I was just calling to make sure you had our flight information." Giles took of his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Yup, G-man. We gotcha." Xander read off of a piece of paper. "Flight 954, from Heathrow, arriving LAX, 4:00 PM."

"Yes, correct. Well, everything seems to be in order. I think I'd best see what has become of Willow."

"Ok, see you guys later."

"Yes, quite. See you, ah, later." Giles hung up the phone, and pinched the bridge of his nose again. He put on his glasses, and began to walk towards the chairs where he was supposed to meet Willow. Quite suddenly, he heard a woman's voice calling him.

"Rupert! Rupert Giles!" Turning, he saw a woman in a knee-length skirt and tweed jacket running towards him.

"Can I help you, madam?"

"My name is April Chisholm. I'm with the Watcher's council. It, well..." She trailed off, looking around them, then continued in a hushed voice. "It appears that the slayer known as Faith has contacted a potential in New York by the name of Eevee Nexus. I'm to accompany you on the way to Sunnydale. I'm leaving on the layover in New York. I've been assigned as Eevee's watcher."

"Ah, well yes, I see." Giles sighed with relief, as he saw the red-haired Wicca coming towards him. "Willow, it appears we will have some company on our return to the United States." He gestured to the woman next to him. "This is Ms. Chisholm."

"Hi!" Willow kind of waved at the woman, handing Giles a cup of steaming tea. "Thought you might still be sleepy. It's early, even for you."

"Willow, Ms. Chisholm is from the Watcher's council. It appears that Faith is in New York City." Giles sipped the tea, grimacing at his burned tongue.

"You-you found her?" Willow's eyes went wide. "You really know where she is?"

"Indeed. We have been notified by a contact in New York, that Faith has contacted a potential slayer. I have been dispatched to be the potential's watcher." April sighed, not used to having to explain herself twice. "And you can both call me April."

"Ah, yes. April." Giles looked like he wished he had a hand free to clean his glasses with.

Willow looked at her watch. "Giles, we need to catch our flight."

Giles squinted at the girl's timepiece. "Yes, quite right. Shall we?" Giles hoisted his bag further up onto his shoulder, handed Willow back her purse and laptop case, and the three walked to the gate, and got on the plane.

Giles sat next to Willow, fidgeting. He hated flying, and was glad they would be stopping over in NYC, dropping April off. {Not that I'm exactly happy for her to leave.} He looked at her, sitting next to him, dozing slightly. Looking over at Willow, reading a magazine, his boredom got the better of him. "Ah, Willow, do you think I might borrow your cassette player for a bit? You know, for the lack of something better."

Willow grinned at him. "Sure Giles!" She dug through her bag, and came out with the Walkman. "I'm not sure if you'll like my taste in music, but here you go." She handed him the player, and went back to her magazine, smiling to herself again thinking of the choice of mix she had put in it.

Giles put the headphones over his ears, and turned the tape player on. Leaning back in his seat, the music started filtering through the foam around his ears.

And it's been awhile
Since I could say that I wasn't addicted
And it's been awhile
Since I could say I loved myself as well
And it's been awhile
Since I've gone and fucked things up, just like I always do
And it's been awhile
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you

{Well I can see why Willow's been listening to this a lot. She feels commiseration.} Giles closed his eyes. {But I rather like the melody and music.}

And everything I can't remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've gone & fucked thing up again, again....

Why must I feel this way...
Just make this go away...
Just one more peaceful day

{Oh, Jenny...My love. Why couldn't I save you?} Giles looked around him, and saw Willow looking sympathetically at him. He took off his glasses and asked the stewardess for a single malt whisky.

Faith signed on to the Internet when they got to White Merlin's house. "Gimme a sec, Shorty. I wanna download that song they were playing in Starbucks."

"Cool, I have to set up anyway." Eevee nodded more to herself, than Faith, setting up her equipment on the big table. She spread out a sterile needle still in its package, some bacitracin, gloves, and a cloth to put everything on.

"So do you do this for a living or something? Or do you just go around giving every hot chick you see free piercings?" Faith chuckled.

"No, you're the only one." Eevee blushed, flirting with the slayer. "I'm a freelance piercer. I carry my stuff around wherever I go. I never know when someone will ask..."Eevee trailed off, then continued. "You gotta pick out which hoop you want." Eevee blushed. "Maybe I have one that'll match your nipples."

Faith looked at Eevee, a huge grin lighting up her face, "I didn't know they made them flesh-colored."

Eevee blanched. "I-I mean the rings...or barbells...or horseshoes? Jewelry. Yeah, I meant the jewelry."

Faith clicked the song, and set it to play. Walking over to Eevee, she took hold of the hem of her black T-shirt. "Wanna see? Then you can tell me." Faith smiled evilly, lifting the shirt at first a little, then over her head.

Eevee gasped. Faith's perky nipples were free, each pierced by a sterling silver ring, from which dangled a tiny silver cross. Her eyes traveled across the slayer's chest, and then roamed across her flat, toned stomach to the waist of her jeans, where there was a tattoo just visible. "Uh, what's the tat of?" Eevee struggled not to let her voice change.

"Wanna see?" Faith draped her shirt over the back of a chair, and hooked her thumb into the belt loop of her pants.

Eevee gulped. "S-sure."

Faith chuckled, and pulled her jeans down just enough so Eevee could see the tattoo. A plain brown wooden stake, crossed by an elaborate dagger. "You like? I'll show you the other one day, if you're good." Faith's eyebrow raised.

"Uhm...okay." Eevee turned to the computer, making the volume louder.

And it's been awhile
Since I could say that I wasn't addicted
And it's been awhile
Since I could say I loved myself as well
And it's been awhile
Since I've gone and fucked things up, just like I always do
And it's been awhile
But all that shit seems to disappear when I'm with you

"Lay on the couch," Eevee said, putting on gloves.

"Hmm, just like sex, huh, V?" Faith teased, looking at the gloves.

"V?" Eevee grabbed the needle, and looked at her curiously.

"V. Short for Ee-Vee."

"Oh. I can deal with that, I guess. Ready?" Eevee positioned the needle above Faith's navel.

"Give it to me, baby." Faith grinned, and closed her eyes.

And everything I can't remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I've rendered
I've gone & fucked thing up again, again....

Eevee shoved the needle through the slayer's bellybutton, and corked the end. "Okay, that's the piercing. Here comes the jewelry." She put the end of the ring into the hole in the dull end of the needle, and pushed the whole thing through, finishing by closing the ring with a hematite bead. "You like it?" She rubbed the piercing with an alcohol pad.

Faith opened her eyes, and looked down. "Oh yeah, V. I love it." She looked at the younger girl, and smiled. "Can I thank you for it?"

"Well, it was a gift." Eevee blushed again. {I gotta stop doing that. Okay, no more blushing.}

"I mean thank you in another way." Faith down at the younger girl, her eyelids lowering.

Eevee flushed. "Uhm...okay. I guess so."

Faith leaned in towards the younger girl, and gently brushed her lips over Eevee's. "Thank you," Faith whispered.

And it's been awhile
Since I could look at myself straight
And it's been awhile
Since I said I'm sorry

Eevee closed her eyes, then opened them again. "Wow. That's it?" Eevee looked at Faith.

"Well, I said it's in your court, and it is. But work this good, it deserves a good thank you."

"Oh. Cool." Eevee said, a little flustered.

And it's been awhile
Since I've seen the way the candles light your face
And it's been awhile
But I can still remember just the way you taste

Faith fingered the ring in her navel, hands travelling over her chest, and down her flat abdomen.

"You shouldn't play with it." Eevee said, trying not to watch.{You should let me play with you instead.}

"Aww, but it itches. Will you scratch it for me?" Faith chuckled.

Eevee lunged for the older girl's lips, claiming them hungrily. Faith's eyes widened briefly, then closed, as she melted into the kiss.

Eevee wrapped her arms around the slayer's neck, and pulled her down onto the couch. Her hands traveled back around the girl, and played briefly with the nipple rings. Coming up for air, Eevee looked at Faith. "Why crosses?"

Faith laughed. "Vampires, crosses...if one of 'em touches me, they get a little hot, y'know?"

"Hmm. What if I told you, that I'm getting a little hot touching you?"

Faith looked down at the younger girl. "I'd probably say, that's a really good thing."

Eevee smiled. She leaned in, and began kissing the slayer's neck. Faith closed her eyes and groaned. Eevee ran her fingers over Faith's nipples ever so lightly, and pulled on one ring, then the other. Biting the older girl's neck, she whispered, "Isn't getting bitten by a vamp like me fun?"

Faith squeezed her eyes shut, and groaned ever so slightly. Suddenly, the girls heard a scream coming from the other room. Faith bolted upright, and grabbed her shirt on the way to the door. Jamming it over her head, she wrenched the door open, and pulling it down all the way, peered into the bedroom. "What's going on?"

Sarafina looked up. "Oh good. I'm so glad you're here."

Faith looked at the short girl, confusion on her face. "Wha? Why? I didn't do anything..." Faith trailed off, seeing Sarafina walking towards her.

"I had such a bad day at work last night. I walk out of the building, and what should happen? I get embraced." Sarafina stopped in the middle of the room, putting on her game-face. "But could it be by a handsome Dracula-type? Nooo. I had to get a freakin' demon. And it's your fault!" Sarafina lunged for Faith, getting tossed over her shoulder.

"My fault, why?" Faith scanned the room for her bag, and grabbed a stake out of it.

"Because we didn't have demons in NYC before you showed up, Slayer." Sarafina tossed a chair at the brunette, and ran around the table towards Faith once again.

"That's okay. I'll remedy that right now." Faith kicked Sarafina in the chest, and pounced on her, starting to stake the vampire, and then thought better of it. "V? Find me something to tie this bitch up with."

"In White Merlin's house? Shouldn't be too difficult." Eevee held up a length of chain and a padlock, "This good?"

Faith smiled. "Perfect. Bring it here, sexy."

Eevee handed her the chain, and Faith brought her into the boiler room, and chained her to the huge heater. "Aw, don't she look pretty."

Merlin walked into the room, rubbing his eyes. "Wha's going on?"

The girls looked at each other, and laughed. "You sleep through anything don't you?" Eevee pointed at his roommate. "Sarafina's a vampire now. The kind that turn to dust."

"Really? Wow." Merlin looked at the unconscious vampire, and shook his head. "Figures she'd be dumb enough to get bitten by the wrong kind."

Faith chuckled, and looked at the clock, then at Eevee. "Come on, Shorty. I'll take you home."

Eevee rolled her eyes, but quietly said, "Okay."

"I'll be back in a bit, 'kay Merlin?" Faith winked at him, and started for the front door, with her arm around Eevee.

"Wait." Merlin rummaged through Sarafina's purse, and tossed a set of keys to Faith. "She don't need 'em anymore."

"True enough." Faith and Eevee walked out into the night.

As the plane taxied into the runway, the pilot's voice came over the PA, rousing Willow from her nap.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. On behalf of the flight crew, I'd like to welcome you to New York City where the local time is now 12:20pm and the temperature is eighty-seven degrees. Please note that the fasten seat belt sign is still on and please remain in your seat until the plane comes to a complete stop. For those passengers continuing on with us to Los Angeles, our departure time is 1:20. For those departing, I hope you enjoy your stay in New York City, or wherever your final destination may be. And, once again, thank you for flying Virgin Atlantic."

Willow walked off the plane with Giles and April, who, sometime during her sleep, had gotten quite friendly. "Giles, we have an hour. Why can't I go see Faith.?" Willow was well aware she was whining, but she couldn't help it. She needed to see the dark slayer.

"It is quite impossible. If Faith sees you, she may well run again. We need her help to battle the First."

"But Giles--"

Giles interrupted her, "But nothing, Willow. You are to remain here, with me, and we'll have a bit of lunch, and then board the flight to Sunnydale. I'm sorry, but my decision is final."

"Fine. But I don't have to be happy about it." Willow put on a pouty face, then followed the watchers to the little restaurant just outside of the gate.

"Yes, well, shall we have lunch?" Giles ushered her inside.

Willow sat at the table, putting her laptop on the seat next to her. "Yeah, I suppose."

"Aren't you excited to see Buffy again? I imagine she misses you." Giles cleaned his glasses, then opened his menu.

"Yeah! Oh my goddess, I didn't even think! How could I be so selfish and stupid?" Willow hung her head, looking down at the floor.

"Willow, everyone forgets things when they're stressed or excited," April said, looking at her. "I've done some rather stupid things in my day, as well."

"Yeah, I guess so. Let's hurry up and eat, Giles. I wanna go home."

"Yes, quite," Giles smiled at the red-headed witch.

Faith and Eevee walked up the block to Eevee's apartment. "Do you wanna come upstairs? My mom's not home tonight." She blushed, realizing what she was saying.

"Only if you want me to." Faith looked up at the building, avoiding Eevee's eyes.

"Yeah, I kinda do." Eevee unlocked the door to the building.

"Okay, then I'll come up." Faith looked into Eevee's eyes again.

Eevee led Faith inside and up the stairs. Coming up to Eevee's door, the girls saw a woman sitting on the staircase.

"Pardon me, but are you Eevee?" The woman asked them in a British accent.

Faith looked at the woman. {Tweed, British accent, aw shit, they found m--wait, Eevee?} Staring at the woman, Faith's slayer hearing picked up a familiar song playing in the apartment next door.

And everything I can't remember
As fucked up as it all may seem, to be
I know its me
I cannot blame this on my father
He did the best he could for me

And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I said I'm sorry
